Chino Valley Streamer Scramble 2026 Results

What Happened
With the previous 10 days of weather being seriously unpredictable and at times downright malicious, there was concern that the event might have to be postponed or even canceled. As it turned out, it was just another perfect day in paradise (weather-wise, at least). Pilots and fans were greeted with clear blue skies, no wind, and picture-perfect flying conditions. Event Manager Eric Puchalski ran the event like he knew what he was doing and the 11 registered pilots were able to complete all four rounds. Well, 11 pilots launched in the first round but by the end of the fourth round, only six planes were still flying. As tough as that sounds, only one model was out of commission due to a midair collision; most of the rest suffered irreparable in-flight equipment failures with a couple entries having to drop out due to having been returned to their original kit boxes.

Other than the flying itself, scoring was the only real stress point. At the end of the first round, four pilots were tied for first place. At the end of the second round, five pilots were duking it out for first. The third and fourth rounds finally sorted things out a bit but when the dust had settled, there was still a three-way tie for third place. Contest Director Mark Lipp graciously agreed to award third-place prizes to all three of those pilots because of their tenacity and excellent flying skills.
