  1. All members and guest pilots must follow the AMA Safety Code and these CVF Rules.
  2. All pilots must have a current AMA membership. Guests tethered to a buddy box controlled by an instructor are exempt from AMA membership requirements.
  3. Any member bringing a guest pilot must accompany the guest pilot at the field. After 3 visits, the guest pilot shall become a member of the club, or cease flying at the CVF field.
  4. Only pilots, student pilots, or spotters are allowed in the flight station area.
  5. If flying on other than 2.4 GHz, the pilot is responsible to coordinate with others that might be sharing the same frequency.
  6. All takeoffs must occur while traveling away from the last person that is within 25ft of the runway.
  7. All efforts must be made to fly within the approved flight area shown on the Field Map.
  8. No electric motor shall be armed while in the ramada unless the propeller or fan is removed.
  9. All gas or glow engines will be started in the pit area. Engines will face toward the ramada with prop wash and exhaust towards the runway.
  10. No taxiing is allowed in the pit area.
  11. Aircraft with running engines will be carried or pushed to a common runway entrance area.  Pilots are encouraged to seek assistance with safely moving aircraft.
  12. All pilots are encouraged to use a transmitter operated motor/engine kill switch.
  13. It is the responsibility of every pilot to call out their intentions. Every pilot in the flight station will acknowledge in some manner.
  14. When flying, pilots must stay in the flight station.

Field Etiquette

  • Drive through area is to be used to unload or load equipment, then move your vehicle.
  • Members bringing RVs to the field shall park only where shown in the Field Map.
  • Bench tops under the ramada should be used for assembly or repair, then cleared off for others to use.
  • Give student pilots plenty of airspace so they can concentrate on flying rather than collision avoidance.
  • Safety concerns should always be politely brought to the attention of a fellow pilot.
  • Keep charging benches clear of anything not related to charging batteries.
  • Assembly benches in the gas/glow area are not to be used for fueling/de-fueling. Use the pits instead
