High Desert Soaring Challenge 2026 Results
(formerly the Summer Glider Endurance Event)
Where: Chino Valley Flyers Field, Chino Valley, AZ

What Happened
The day started sunny with clear blue skies and, for a welcome change, windless. There was a light breeze but nothing to get worked up about. Event Manager John Dora ran the event like a boss and the 10 registered pilots were able to complete all three rounds in two classes before the wind became an issue. (Well, those pilots who didn’t dork their models on the first or second flight got to fly all three rounds.)
Prizes were awarded to the top three scorers in each class. Here’s a list of all registered pilots and the classes they registered in. The top three finishers are noted:
